How does STASH work?
Efficiently and conveniently. We are transforming the self-storage business by offering individuals, families and businesses a new way to store small and large items. We come to you. You do not need to lift a finger! We’ll drop off free STASH boxes for you to use on the day and time you request and then will come back and pick them up on the day and time you request (maybe it’s the same day, maybe it’s a different day). We then organize, barcode, photograph and store your items in our climate-controlled storage facility.
What sets STASH storage apart from other storage options?
We are the only on-demand storage in Charleston, Raleigh, Durham, and our other markets throughout the Southeast. We aim to provide the best customer service possible. STASH provides a stress-free, quick and efficient way for you to store and collect your items. We even provide boxes for you to stash your stuff in, for FREE. The convenience of STASH storage is unmatched compared to other storage options.
Where are you located?
We are located throughout the Southeast Region of the United States. Currently, we are located and operational in beautiful Charleston, SC and service the tri-county area, as well as Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill, NC, also known as the Triangle. More markets coming soon!
When can I STASH my stuff?
STASH is open 7 days a week for your convenience. We schedule pickups and deliveries online and via phone or chat. Typically, we can pick up and return items within 24-48 hours.
What can I store with STASH?
Almost anything you want, big or small, within reason. Please see the STASH terms and conditions for specifics.
How do I access and manage my online inventory?
First get a free quote and we will contact you to set up your account. Then, go to my.stashstorage.com to Login. Once logged in, you will be able to view the items in your inventory. Want an item back? Simply click it, select time and date, and schedule a delivery within 24-48 hours!
How and when do I get my things back?
Simply click it in your online inventory, schedule a delivery time and date, and we’ll bring your items back. If you have other items you’d like to store, we can pick those up when we drop off your requested items. Delivery fees are $15 plus $5 for each item returned.

What are your plan options?
We have 3 main options: Declutter, Bulk Storage, and Custom Care. Each is designed to be an affordable on-demand storage solution that fits your needs, big or small. We provide STASH boxes to you for FREE, you just pay for us to store your stuff. For pricing details, get a free quote.
What are my payment options?
STASH accepts major credit/debit cards.
How much will labor cost me?
Labor outside our FREE offerings is charged at $60/hr per mover. What does that mean? If our crew has to move other items out of the way to get to the items you want to STASH, the extra fee may apply.
Is there a fee for rescheduling?
STASH requires more than a 48-hour notice to cancel or reschedule a delivery. If you don’t notify us, certain fees will apply.
If you need to cancel within 48 hours of your delivery, the fee is $60. If you fail to appear for your appointment the fee is $100.
Packing + Boxes
Do I need to pre-pack before you arrive at my location?
Yes, we would prefer that you pack your belongings up the way you would like them to be situated within the provided STASH storage boxes.
What if I have my stuff packed in cardboard boxes?
We will accept cardboard boxes but we prefer if you used our STASH boxes. Our STASH boxes are durable and lockable and we will drop off empty boxes in advance for you to pack prior to your pick-up appointment. We provide a description card for you to document the box contents and place in a clear envelope on the outside of the box. We also photograph the top of the open STASH box for your online storage unit. If you pack in a cardboard box we simply photograph the box as is.
What is a STASH Box?
A STASH Box is a durable, lockable, and 100% recycled box that is ideal for storing loose items. The dimensions are 28” L x 20” W x 15” H or 4.0 cu. Ft. Click here for packing tips.
We also have a wardrobe box with metal hanging bar that is idea for hanging up to 2’ of closet space. The dimensions are 24.5” W x 49” H x 21” D.
Are there weight limits for boxes and furniture?
Yes, the weight limit for STASH boxes and wardrobe boxes is 45 lbs. When packing mix heavy and light items so that each container doesn’t exceed the weight limit. Pack fragile items with bubble wrap or other padding.
Please inform us ahead of your pickup if you have any heavy furniture items like sleeper sofas. The pickup of extra heavy items is at the discretion of our STASH Crew and we would like to make sure we come with the appropriate resources to get the job done.
Pickup + Delivery
How do I schedule an appointment with STASH storage?
If you are a new customer, get a free quote here, and we will contact you to schedule an appointment. If you are an existing customer, you can login at my.stashstorage.com and request a return of your items that we’ve STASHed, as well as select other items to store.
When should I expect the STASH team on the day of my pickup or delivery?
We will be at your location on the date and time that you request. If we are unable to make that time we will let you know. On the day of your delivery you will receive a text from the driver letting you know they are on their way.
What is the policy for rescheduling or canceling a pickup or delivery?
STASH requires a 48-hour notice to cancel or reschedule a delivery. If you need to cancel within 48 hours of your delivery, the fee is $60.
If you fail to appear for your appointment the fee is $100.
Can I come to the storage facility and get my items instead of getting them delivered?
The point of STASH is to take the hassle of having to go to the storage facility away from you! For security reasons, we do not allow our customers to come into the storage facility. However, if you have an urgent situation, STASH will work with you to get your items.
Should I tip?
Tips are not required. However, if you feel that you would like to give a tip, it is greatly appreciated.
If I move, how do I get my items back?
If you change addresses or move out of your current location, please update your account information by logging in at my.stashstorage.com and editing your profile. If you need to get your stuff to a new city, please contact STASH to see what we can do to assist you with your move.
If I request to donate or get rid of my items, will you do so for me?
Yes, we will donate items for you! We have relationships with the local Goodwill and Salvation Army.
Is there an extra protection plan I can purchase?
Yes, for extra protection you can optionally purchase protection for your items. For detailed information, please read the Terms & Conditions.
